  • Participate in fundraising and community health planning

Salary: $110,800

Education:
Many higher-level health care administration executives have a master's degree in a field such as public health or business, hospital or nursing administration. A bachelor's degree is often sufficient for entry-level positions, or for employment with smaller facilities when coupled with relevant healthcare experience.

Demand or Need for this Profession:
The job outlook for healthcare administrators is strong, with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) projecting 23% growth through 2022, more than double the 11% growth rate expected for all jobs, and more than three times that of management professions overall.
Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why or why not?
My opinion right now is that I wouldn’t like to be one. The reason is because I would much rather be in the action, than just planning it with people around me. If I only had two options, whether to be a Healthcare administrator or a doctor, it would be a really tough decision for me because neither are my dream jobs in mind right now as a Sophomore.
