“Right is Right, even if everyone is against it; and wrong is wrong even if everyone is for it.”
~William Penn

This quote means that even if something seems right because everyone does it, doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do. Also, even if people are against something they don’t want, doesn’t mean we have to go with the flow. For example, if 99% of the school is against the school uniform policy, being against it too doesn’t make it the right choice. Therefore, doing the wrong choices people make, will never turn it into the right thing to do.

“Don’t sacrifice what you want most for what you want now. Write down what you want most and see it often.”
~Peter Vidmar

Our temptations make us forget how much we really want to achieve our goals. This quote means that we shouldn’t forget about what we really want , our desire for the future, for what we crave right now. even if it takes a lot of work, we should keep trying for what’s more important than for what is just temporary.
School Homecoming

What is School Homecoming?
  • Homecoming is a time to celebrate the school you’re attending. And, after you’ve graduated, it’s a time to go back (or “come home”) to your town and the campus, see old friends, and reminisce about your school days. Homecoming usually centers around a football game, but schools have been known to have homecoming basketball, soccer or even hockey games. It’s an annual tradition for most American high schools (and some colleges and universities, too!) There are a ton of activities that center around homecoming, and they vary from school to school. The celebrations generally start within the school on Monday and last all the way through the weekend when the alumni show up.
History of Homecoming
  • The 1911 Kansas vs. Missouri football game is one of several claimed to be the first college football homecoming game. The tradition of Homecoming has its origin in alumni football games held at colleges and universities since the 19th century.
Why Do We Celebrate Homecoming In Schools?
  • A pep rally usually occurs on the day of the big homecoming game. A dance follows the homecoming game, and a homecoming queen and sometimes king are crowned either during this time or at halftime of the game. All of these encourage students and alumni to have school spirit and pride. Also, it’s fun for the students in these Schools.
Relative Activities
  • Prom
  • Class Reunion
  • Any Special games/meetings of any Sport
Why is it called Homecoming game?
  • Homecoming is an annual tradition in the United States. People, towns, high schools, and colleges come together, usually in late September or early October, to welcome back alumni and former residents.
Homecoming Etiquette
  • High School Homecoming Etiquette is homecoming, which takes place every fall, and is a very important high school event. The tradition, now followed by most schools and states, was born. Most homecoming dances are semi-formal, although each school will specify its own dress code.
Reflection
  • I think that Homecoming and all those Special events our School does, are a very great idea. This makes us feel more comfortable with our school and with ourselves. It can also make us forget about the stress and problems for a while, but it is really worth to go and have fun, also to support our school.

“A good name is better than anything you can achieve in this life.”
~Coach K
This quote means that it is better to be seen as someone who always tries even when they fail, than to be the most richest and prosperous human but be the worst example of the world and everyone seeing you as an insolent person. They are a lot of examples for this quote and its meaning, but the main reason for this quote is to show us not to be narcissistic in any moment and be more proactive to be a good set of example in the world and get a “good name.”

“A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches.”
~Proverbs 22:1

How a person sees you is apparently more important than your happiness. This quote is saying that being that ‘good’ ‘special’ person can make people felicity. While people are grateful to hear your name, they are also grateful to see you. Being that different special person makes others happy and can make a good difference in your life and in others.

“If your so called friends urge you to do anything you know to be wrong, you be the one to make a stand for right, even if you stand alone. Have the moral courage to be a light for others to follow.”
~Thomas S. Monson
This quotes means that we need to set an example for others so they can see that we are different. This way, we can also teach the, how to be like us. For example, if they ask us to do something that we already know is wrong and we disagree in doing it, they might think twice about doing that themselves as well. This brings us to the conclusion of being a CTR person and a perfect example for your friends.

“A CTR champion is a person who makes a great human out of himself”
~Noemi Trigueros
This quote is telling us that while making good decisions in life we become CTR. While being CTR we become Champions. By  doing this we’re making the best out of us. For example, by doing all of this (helping others and doing the right thing all the time) we put great examples to others and put those ideas in their minds that they should do it to. This way everyone learns how to do the right thing and why it’s important.

“Goal setting is goal getting. Set and get.”
~Mark Victor Hansen

This quote means that in order to achieve something we need to put that goal in our minds before anything. For example, if our goal is to be able to buy this expensive item you really like, then you’re going to save up for it. The achievement later on will be after you buy it because you were successful. However, if someone would like to achieve some other goal they have in mind but hey are too lazy then nothing will be accomplished. For example, if someone was thinking of joining a sport but feels too tired and lazy and gives up before they even get to practice, then they didn’t set their mind in their goal. Therefore, if they re-think and be proactive then they will change their mind and start practicing to be successful at that goal they wanted to achieve.

Columbus day

About Columbus...

Explorer and navigator Christopher Columbus was born in 1451 in the Republic of Genoa, Italy. His first voyage into the Atlantic Ocean in 1476 nearly cost him his life. Columbus participated in several other expeditions to Africa. 1492, Columbus left Spain in the Santa Maria, with the Pinta and the NiƱa along side. He has been credited for opening up the Americas to European colonization.

About Columbus Day….

Columbus Day is a U.S. holiday that commemorates the landing of Christopher Columbus in the New World on October 12, 1492. It was unofficially celebrated in a number of cities and states as early as the 18th century but did not become a federal holiday until the 1937. For many, the holiday is a way of both honoring Columbus’ achievements and celebrating Italian-American heritage. Throughout its history, Columbus Day and the man who inspired it have generated controversy, and many alternatives to the holiday have appeared in recent years.

Reflection….

I feel that October 10th, Columbus Day, of every year is very important because in that day we recognize Christopher Columbus achievements that really affect all of us in a really great way because we live here in America.

“When obedience becomes our goal, it is no longer an irritation; instead of a stumbling block, it becomes a building block.”
~James E. Faust

This quote means that if we plan to obey and turn into a CTR person, we make it through the way easily instead of struggling. This is because you’re setting your mind into something already and not wandering around not knowing what to do. This is why sometimes we don’t do what’s right because we don’t know what we are doing at all. However, when you set your mind, you understand and “regret” nothing at the end. This also shows us how now instead of us thinking twice of doing something right, we think once and is easy as possible to do now more than ever.
