"A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder."
~Thomas Carlyle

Thomas Carlyle states that a man without a goal[s] in his life is like a boat in the ocean or sea without any destination lying above it. No one wants to be in a boat who doesn't go places because the boat would be of no use. Just like someone who lives life with no purpose is just a waste of time and energy. Everyone was created with a purpose, our job is only to find that purpose and make our life most important goal and that is living life how it's suppose to be. Some people who do enjoy life, put a little extra to it, like their own personal goals and things they want to go and places they want to see. In order to find that goal that is missing from someone, you have to find what you love most, what you worry about most and what interests you the most. Put everything together and make a goal that will save you from a non-purpose trip in this world.
Memorial Day Weekend

I spent my Memorial weekend at Bakersfield. I enjoyed it because I got to spent time with my church friends and my family all together. I got to meet some new people and made new friends. In the first and second stay in Bakersfield, I went hiking with my new friends and my sister. We enjoyed this but had a lot of accidents and slipping. After hiking we went to the river and it was beautiful seeing everything and nature. After all of my adventures my family and I went to go stay at a hotel and as soon as we arrived we didn't waste time to get in. The next day, my church friends invited my sister and  I to play volleyball with them. We stayed to play with for about and hour and then went to go eat carne asada with my family. All of this made me, and everyone, so tired so we went home and were dismissed by everyone. Once I got home I spent the rest of the day watching the last episodes of my favorite show "How To Get Away With Murder". After finishing the show I started watching another show called "Skins", an old British show. Some ctr experiences I had during my break were when I was with my church friends. We had to make acts of kindness to people we don't really know.

"When a deep injury is done us, we never recover until we forgive."
~Alan Paton

When someone is injured, all they want is to get better. It is the same for us in, maybe, an emotional way. Sometimes people break other people and it affects them in many ways like emotionally, spiritually, or physically. No one likes a bruised soul, so in order to heal all that is needed is forgiveness. Forgiveness will heal the bruises because it makes sure that there is no more hate between both people. An example can be when you're in a relationship and your partner is being abusive in different ways. You decide it's over, but later you figure that his/her past wasn't a very good one so you now understand his behavior. You then go see them and they try to ask for forgiveness only and you forgive them. This is an example of two broken heart being mended again. Forgiveness made both of the people feel better because they now understand the truth and don't have hate anymore.

"Dare to do right."
~Rex D. Pinegar
Rex D. Pinegar shares his story about the truth of daring, and dares us to do the right. When you dare someone to do something, you are 50% making them, plus their decision there's a more chance they will do the dare. This brings us to the dare in which you're giving. Is it dangerous, risky, or a good dare? No is made to do anything here but once daring gives in, it seems like you have no choice. In order to make a good dare, you need to look at what you're going to ask and to whom. Dare your friends to do their homework, or your brother to organize his room. These are the words Pinegar would say to rephrase his statement. One example of a bad dare is when you dare  someone to drink, smoke, or steal. These are dares that can bring bad consequences to you. An example of a good dare is when you dare someone to finish their homework, or to race around a track. These are little dare in which you can have fun in.

"Dare to stand alone."
~Thomas S. Monson

Thomas Monson tells us to dare and stand alone. What this means is to stand away from others, from the bad influences in our life. This will keep us from imitating what happens around the world, the bad decisions, the bad language, ect. When we stand alone, we show others that we don't need the help from people who will only make our lives more problematic. For example, when it comes to deciding something in our lives, our friends always try to help us out on it. We usually ask for help too. However, they may end up making you take the wrong path like instead of saying not to get hurt, they tell you to go fight. Theses are the only decision bad influence give us. On the other hand, the decision you should make should be to go apologize to the person and forgive them in return. This way, you don't hurt yourself and someone emotionally/physically, but you make it better.

"If I've got correct goals, and if I keep pursuing them the best way I know how, everything else falls into line. If I do the right thing , I'm going to succeed."
~Dan Dierdorf
Dan Dierdorf shows us that in life only putting goals into it will make it life. Otherwise, some may seem like they're going the right way but they're actually falling. Life can be masked as an easy way through many things, but in order to be successful we need to open our eyes and see color not black and white. An example can be when students cheat on a test, they've cheated their way through their goal. The student who by themselves finished the test, will be the one who actually know the answer, and later on in life when they see a similar problem, they won't hesitate to say the answer. This shows how those who make the right goals and do them the correct way, will have everything else fall into the right place at the right time.

"The most important thing you will ever have is good values."
~Dennis Prager
Dennis Prager tells us that the most important thing that we will ever have in our lives are good values. To start off, good values are made by human souls- which of course is us. Good values need to be made by us humans in order to make our life less miserable and more of something of importance to the world. If good values didn't exists, then good people wouldn't exists. Good people are the one's who give examples to the ones who don't know anything of what is good in life. An example of a person with good values may be someone who does what knows what's right, not what they feel like doing. For example, someone who chooses to go home and celebrate a holiday with their family, instead of going partying with their friends because they feel like it's more fun, is a person with good values. Leaving the family down in a special day shows signs of not really caring or loving someone.

"In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing."
~Theodore Roosevelt

Theodore Roosevelt tells us that in a situation where we are in the rush to make a decision, the best thing we can do is to choose the right one. No other circumstance is going to make this decision wrong and we can also be glad of why you chose what you chosen. For example, if you would've chosen the wrong decision, which you would know which one it would be, then it wouldn't lead to what you got by choosing the right. You would've chosen the one that got you into serious consequences, and a bad conscious. This all seems like something we really don't need to pay attention to, but it really is important, to you and person the decision it affects to. At the end, all comes together in a really nice way, where you feel good about doing the right thing and getting your own reward later on.

"Nothing is ever gained in doing what's wrong."
~Wilford Woodruff

Wilford Woodruff shows us that when choosing the wrong, we will never gain anything like that. We will always go back up, and when we learn the next time that it's not right to do it, then we go back up to where we were, so nothing was really gained. However, if we decide to tell the truth, to help someone with their homework, to go home on time, then all of this brings us gain from where we are, and we go to the top and higher than anyone else. If you think that ctr will bring you happiness, just wait till you're all shrinked up in the bottom, then you'll learn what's right and what's wrong. No one wants to wait for that tho so I advise you to start today and learnt that you can make the right decision right away and not wait till the consequences. In some cases, people have heard of what is to come to them after all of this, but no one has really learned. Our job is also to tell them and remind them of all of this. If you're not the one to tell them then it is your responsibility for all of this. As humans we need to fix this world and it's people, just like heroes do, or any good example we face.

"It's a great moment when someone has character to step up and do the right thing at the right time."
~Pam Knox

Pam Knox states that when someone steps up to do the right thing and how there good character, then it's a great moment of truth. No one likes to be disappointed, worst even after winning something, but many show that winning doesn't matter but showing their good character. Instead of cheating their way to the finish line, they think it's better to win with integrity. This is an example of good character, and someone in a good mindset. Others would think that because they've won, they are the best. However, others think that because they've shown the world what is best, they are the best. Comparing these two can give you a point of view to whom can have the greater character in them.

" Place me behind prison walls-walls of stone ever so high, ever so thick, reaching ever so far into the ground- there is a possibility that in some way or another I might be able to escape; but stand me on the floor and draw a chalk line around me and have em give my word of honor never to cross it, Can I get out of that circle? No, never! I’d die first."
~Karl G. Maeser

Karl G. Maeser explains to us that  it will never matter to him what he gave his word of honor to, nothing will ever make him break it. Showing this type of honor is a way great to show someone's character  and who they are. By what Maeser has shown us, we can see that he is a guy of word and he does everything possible to be and stay in a straight path line. We should all care about our importance to this type of honor. Are we up to it? Have we failed it? It shouldn't matter to us if the word we made was to someone that you really don't care about, the deal is the accomplish what you promised and nothing will be hurt. The only thing affected in this pact is how great it is to do something right for another person.
