"You will go far with CTR."
~Mr. Haymore
In life decisions need to be made, so to choose the right one we choose between the 'right' and 'wrong' one. Both answers take you to two total different ways. The right one takes you to the path where your conscious is clean and the wrong path take you down a path where you'll have regret and terrible consequences. Some examples of the consequences you can expect are losing friends, getting in trouble, getting caught, and having nightmares. Living in regret is not a good thing for anyone so my advice would be to choose the right path. This path will show you the good things in life and make you look into the past and laugh at your old self. In this path you will feel like a renewed person and feel different in a good way. Also, things are going to seem easier for you like getting help, earning trust, and making friends. In conclusion, if anyone takes the wrong path, they will feel like life has ended for them and that's when bad thoughts come into their mind. Even if you're the one who CTR's it's still important to help others. In other words, we need to help those who make the wrong decisions.
Class Evaluation
My sophomore year was the most challenging school year ever for me. No matter what challenges were brought up to me, I enjoyed every moment of both semesters. I enjoyed my classes, the teachers, my classmates, and my friends. Whether I had math, English, science, or history next I tried to learn in every second. The class I really enjoyed most was my Computers class. I loved that we all got to try out something new and we learned more about it every day by Mr. Haymore. Learning how to code was difficult to understand in the beginning, but at the end I could manage to do it all by myself.
There was one thing that I didn't like from this class, and it was that he moved us at the second semester. I enjoyed being with my partner and I was starting to know them better until he took that opportunity away from me. Now, I think it's more awkward to make a conversation with person solo.
Despite all the pros and cons of this class, one recommendation I have to improving this class is to do more technological work. For example, everyday we start of with sometimes writing in our journal, or searching up on a career. Then, we go into our student success statement. Next, we go to our code page to finish up where we left off. Finally, in total we use our computer only three times for only 40-50 minutes. I would've loved to have more time to put in more words into my student success statements, and have more time to practice my coding.
One highlight that I had in this class were the convincing words I heard everyday. I can sometimes think negatively but when I remember that what I do is redeemable I go back to being okay. This was a highlight for me because when some think that words mean nothing, they do. Sometimes you hear wisdom words and ignore them, but later on when you think about doing something wrong, those words always come back.
Overall, I believe that I tried my best in this class and I gave it my all. Sometimes other classes might have gotten me a little behind in some work here, but I tried to manage to do what I can. I also worked hard on my computer work like the daily career summaries and my daily student statements. I really loved doing those because they opened my mind in many things even if I don’t see right away, I do notice it. Also, working on coding might've been difficult and confusing at the beginning, but I worked on and focused to get it right.
I know that writing and reading might not be the thing for everyone, but for me I think that it's not about wanting to but about having to. I believe that everyone should be reading their journals for at least five minutes every day. I myself, do this because I really want to become a better person because I know I'm not. I always try to put more goals into my mind and why they should be important to me. I also try to talk some of my friends to do the same thing even if they think it's crazy. Even if I just speak to them I know I've just planted a seed.

In conclusion, at the end, everyone around you can see your true self, and I believe that everyone should see me as a CTR person. My actions are meant to evolve me and everyone around me. If I do a good action, I want my brothers to see that they can do the same. However, if I do a bad action it affects my brothers negatively. This is why I try as hard as I can to do the right thing, and when I forget I write on paper what I did wrong and try not to do it again. Even this can take practice, but it's all worth it at the end because you have peace and happiness in you, and you don't need to worry about getting in trouble.

"The ultimate choice is to be a CTR person – To always choose the right 24/7"
~Mr. Haymore

Mr. Haymore helps us believe that choosing to be a CTR person is the only choice that can make the best out of someone. How? Some may ask. Well a person who makes the right decisions always gets a good result. For example, a person who doesn't cheat on a test and passes it all by themselves can be someone who awaits for a bright future who would someday know the real answer to the question they didn't cheat on. Some may careless about ctr, but they never know when they really need it, and usually they end up very bad and without trust. Trust less people can end up in the streets thinking that they have no hope and that no one loves them, and that they are good for nothing in this world. However, that's not true, the only thing they need is to make the right decision to make their path a good path in this life. If you choose to put goals and challenges ahead of you, and you out in your head that you're going to make it, then you will. Finally, that is how you live with the decision of being a CTR person.
Orlando Nightclub Shooting

  • I choose this topic because I recently heard about it. I know that many people died that day and it was all just because of person with hate inside them. They describe the shooting was created by a 29 year old security guard, who killed 49 people and wounded 53 while in a terrorist/hate attack. This happened inside Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, United States. This man was punished by being shot and killed by OPD officers. This night is also described as the "deadliest mass shooting" by a single shooter and the deadliest incident of violence against LGBT people in the United States history. Describing the story, the gunman's name was Mateen. That day he was just working an extra shift when he past all the guards and started shooting. He sought a lot of people hiding and went to the places he knew people would be hiding. He went to the restroom and started shooting, which killed 2 people and wounded several. Meanwhile, during all this chaos, many people were confused, some thought all the racket was part of the loud music, and some were just panicking. After, some paramedics, firefighters, and policemen came to the rescue. My opinion about all of this is why would someone do such terrible acts and think that they are doing it for the right of all. They deserve more punishment than death, since all they know what to do is take innocents lives away.

"If there is beauty in character, there will be harmony in the home. If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation. If there is order in the nation, then there will be peace in the world. In conclusion, if there is beauty in character, there will be peace in the world."

Anyone who has peace in them can be contagious, and I believe that this is what this Chinese Proverbs is about. If you give and act out in good character, others will do the same. I don't think anyone who’s given a bad character has received any better in return. So, an example of what good character and peace looks like can be when you are serving the community. When you serve the community you bring joy to people and to whom you're working for. An example of bad character that doesn't bring peace are gangs. Gangs are known to be the worst problem in every city and they can have the highest rate of deaths. I don't think death brings happiness to anyone, it only bring rage and sadness. To conclude, I believe that the more good deeds are made everyday, the more peace we can get and then we will have the 'peace in the world' for everyone, because everyone deserves it.

"A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder."
~Thomas Carlyle

Thomas Carlyle states that a man without a goal[s] in his life is like a boat in the ocean or sea without any destination lying above it. No one wants to be in a boat who doesn't go places because the boat would be of no use. Just like someone who lives life with no purpose is just a waste of time and energy. Everyone was created with a purpose, our job is only to find that purpose and make our life most important goal and that is living life how it's suppose to be. Some people who do enjoy life, put a little extra to it, like their own personal goals and things they want to go and places they want to see. In order to find that goal that is missing from someone, you have to find what you love most, what you worry about most and what interests you the most. Put everything together and make a goal that will save you from a non-purpose trip in this world.
Memorial Day Weekend

I spent my Memorial weekend at Bakersfield. I enjoyed it because I got to spent time with my church friends and my family all together. I got to meet some new people and made new friends. In the first and second stay in Bakersfield, I went hiking with my new friends and my sister. We enjoyed this but had a lot of accidents and slipping. After hiking we went to the river and it was beautiful seeing everything and nature. After all of my adventures my family and I went to go stay at a hotel and as soon as we arrived we didn't waste time to get in. The next day, my church friends invited my sister and  I to play volleyball with them. We stayed to play with for about and hour and then went to go eat carne asada with my family. All of this made me, and everyone, so tired so we went home and were dismissed by everyone. Once I got home I spent the rest of the day watching the last episodes of my favorite show "How To Get Away With Murder". After finishing the show I started watching another show called "Skins", an old British show. Some ctr experiences I had during my break were when I was with my church friends. We had to make acts of kindness to people we don't really know.

"When a deep injury is done us, we never recover until we forgive."
~Alan Paton

When someone is injured, all they want is to get better. It is the same for us in, maybe, an emotional way. Sometimes people break other people and it affects them in many ways like emotionally, spiritually, or physically. No one likes a bruised soul, so in order to heal all that is needed is forgiveness. Forgiveness will heal the bruises because it makes sure that there is no more hate between both people. An example can be when you're in a relationship and your partner is being abusive in different ways. You decide it's over, but later you figure that his/her past wasn't a very good one so you now understand his behavior. You then go see them and they try to ask for forgiveness only and you forgive them. This is an example of two broken heart being mended again. Forgiveness made both of the people feel better because they now understand the truth and don't have hate anymore.

"Dare to do right."
~Rex D. Pinegar
Rex D. Pinegar shares his story about the truth of daring, and dares us to do the right. When you dare someone to do something, you are 50% making them, plus their decision there's a more chance they will do the dare. This brings us to the dare in which you're giving. Is it dangerous, risky, or a good dare? No is made to do anything here but once daring gives in, it seems like you have no choice. In order to make a good dare, you need to look at what you're going to ask and to whom. Dare your friends to do their homework, or your brother to organize his room. These are the words Pinegar would say to rephrase his statement. One example of a bad dare is when you dare  someone to drink, smoke, or steal. These are dares that can bring bad consequences to you. An example of a good dare is when you dare someone to finish their homework, or to race around a track. These are little dare in which you can have fun in.

"Dare to stand alone."
~Thomas S. Monson

Thomas Monson tells us to dare and stand alone. What this means is to stand away from others, from the bad influences in our life. This will keep us from imitating what happens around the world, the bad decisions, the bad language, ect. When we stand alone, we show others that we don't need the help from people who will only make our lives more problematic. For example, when it comes to deciding something in our lives, our friends always try to help us out on it. We usually ask for help too. However, they may end up making you take the wrong path like instead of saying not to get hurt, they tell you to go fight. Theses are the only decision bad influence give us. On the other hand, the decision you should make should be to go apologize to the person and forgive them in return. This way, you don't hurt yourself and someone emotionally/physically, but you make it better.

"If I've got correct goals, and if I keep pursuing them the best way I know how, everything else falls into line. If I do the right thing , I'm going to succeed."
~Dan Dierdorf
Dan Dierdorf shows us that in life only putting goals into it will make it life. Otherwise, some may seem like they're going the right way but they're actually falling. Life can be masked as an easy way through many things, but in order to be successful we need to open our eyes and see color not black and white. An example can be when students cheat on a test, they've cheated their way through their goal. The student who by themselves finished the test, will be the one who actually know the answer, and later on in life when they see a similar problem, they won't hesitate to say the answer. This shows how those who make the right goals and do them the correct way, will have everything else fall into the right place at the right time.

"The most important thing you will ever have is good values."
~Dennis Prager
Dennis Prager tells us that the most important thing that we will ever have in our lives are good values. To start off, good values are made by human souls- which of course is us. Good values need to be made by us humans in order to make our life less miserable and more of something of importance to the world. If good values didn't exists, then good people wouldn't exists. Good people are the one's who give examples to the ones who don't know anything of what is good in life. An example of a person with good values may be someone who does what knows what's right, not what they feel like doing. For example, someone who chooses to go home and celebrate a holiday with their family, instead of going partying with their friends because they feel like it's more fun, is a person with good values. Leaving the family down in a special day shows signs of not really caring or loving someone.

"In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing."
~Theodore Roosevelt

Theodore Roosevelt tells us that in a situation where we are in the rush to make a decision, the best thing we can do is to choose the right one. No other circumstance is going to make this decision wrong and we can also be glad of why you chose what you chosen. For example, if you would've chosen the wrong decision, which you would know which one it would be, then it wouldn't lead to what you got by choosing the right. You would've chosen the one that got you into serious consequences, and a bad conscious. This all seems like something we really don't need to pay attention to, but it really is important, to you and person the decision it affects to. At the end, all comes together in a really nice way, where you feel good about doing the right thing and getting your own reward later on.

"Nothing is ever gained in doing what's wrong."
~Wilford Woodruff

Wilford Woodruff shows us that when choosing the wrong, we will never gain anything like that. We will always go back up, and when we learn the next time that it's not right to do it, then we go back up to where we were, so nothing was really gained. However, if we decide to tell the truth, to help someone with their homework, to go home on time, then all of this brings us gain from where we are, and we go to the top and higher than anyone else. If you think that ctr will bring you happiness, just wait till you're all shrinked up in the bottom, then you'll learn what's right and what's wrong. No one wants to wait for that tho so I advise you to start today and learnt that you can make the right decision right away and not wait till the consequences. In some cases, people have heard of what is to come to them after all of this, but no one has really learned. Our job is also to tell them and remind them of all of this. If you're not the one to tell them then it is your responsibility for all of this. As humans we need to fix this world and it's people, just like heroes do, or any good example we face.

"It's a great moment when someone has character to step up and do the right thing at the right time."
~Pam Knox

Pam Knox states that when someone steps up to do the right thing and how there good character, then it's a great moment of truth. No one likes to be disappointed, worst even after winning something, but many show that winning doesn't matter but showing their good character. Instead of cheating their way to the finish line, they think it's better to win with integrity. This is an example of good character, and someone in a good mindset. Others would think that because they've won, they are the best. However, others think that because they've shown the world what is best, they are the best. Comparing these two can give you a point of view to whom can have the greater character in them.

" Place me behind prison walls-walls of stone ever so high, ever so thick, reaching ever so far into the ground- there is a possibility that in some way or another I might be able to escape; but stand me on the floor and draw a chalk line around me and have em give my word of honor never to cross it, Can I get out of that circle? No, never! I’d die first."
~Karl G. Maeser

Karl G. Maeser explains to us that  it will never matter to him what he gave his word of honor to, nothing will ever make him break it. Showing this type of honor is a way great to show someone's character  and who they are. By what Maeser has shown us, we can see that he is a guy of word and he does everything possible to be and stay in a straight path line. We should all care about our importance to this type of honor. Are we up to it? Have we failed it? It shouldn't matter to us if the word we made was to someone that you really don't care about, the deal is the accomplish what you promised and nothing will be hurt. The only thing affected in this pact is how great it is to do something right for another person.

"Goodness is the only investment that never fails."
~Henry David Thoreau

Henry David Thoreau exclaims that goodness is the only investment that never fails. I believe that his words mean that we cannot depend on other investments we make in life other than what we invest on others. Investing on businesses, companies and other things are going to fail us at some point. However, is we invest, or put, goodness into what we do and into others, then we are investing something that will last and not fail. Goodness can be many things like being king, giving a helping hand, being respectful, and working hard and not being lazy, etc. We can choose the kind of goodness you want to show, and no matter what you do you will input something great in someone else's life.

"My basic principle is that you don't make decisions because they are easy; you don't make them because they are cheap; you don't make them because they're popular' you make them because they're right."
~Theodore Hesburgh
Theodore Hesburgh explains that our life, our decisions, is something that can shows us when we are about to do the right thing or not. Choosing the wrong decisions can lead to many different consequences that choosing the other one. How should we know what decision to make? Well, the different choices you have lead to different paths. Right then, you check which one doesn't lead to a bad end and then choose it and do it. You go for what is right and you do it, not the path that is just easy for you. Also, if you make decisions just because you see everyone else do it, you will end up badly. So, in order to not end up tied up to a bad consequence, it's good to follow the good path.

"It is our duty to concentrate all our influence to make popular that which is sound and good, and unpopular that which is unsound."
~Joseph Smith

I believe that Joseph Smith speaks truth in his words because he is talking about us being an influence like a good parent or the older sibling, and make out of these people. The unpopular is what we don't want people to be and the unsound is the bad influence we create sometime. We should challenge ourselves and that way we help ourselves and others too. In order to start this we to start by convincing ourselves that we will do the right and say the right. This start can lead to many accomplishments. For example, it can lead to others taking that example and becoming something that will make a better life to them. Another accomplishment can be a good lifestyle to you. Not only is it important to show others that this world can be lived in harmony and joy, but we also have to accept it and live in it, do the right choices and get great rewards in life.
